What is Windscribe’s Mission?
At Windscribe, our mission is to make privacy accessible and internet freedom a reality for everyone.
We believe the internet should be open and free from censorship, surveillance, and invasive tracking—not a place where your every click is someone else’s payday. That’s why we’ve built a service that puts you first, not advertisers, governments, or even shareholders.
We don’t collect your data, because we don’t need it (and frankly, we don’t want it). You can sign up without giving us your name or email, and if you’re feeling particularly secretive, pay with crypto (we prefer DOGE). Our mission isn’t about flashy promises, and fake discounts — it’s about giving you the tools to take back control of your online life. We’re here to make privacy practical, simple, and, most importantly, yours.

What Makes Windscribe Different?
No tracking
We don’t track you, sell your data, or bombard you with ads. Privacy is built into everything we do, from letting you sign up without an email to keeping our website completely free of third-party trackers. We don’t want your personal data, and frankly, we don’t think anyone else should either.
Self-funded
Unlike most companies, we’re self-funded. That means no venture capitalists breathing down our necks to chase profits at your expense. Transparency is a big deal for us. We keep a real-time Transparency Report so you can see exactly what’s happening behind the scenes. All our apps are open-source, so you can see how everything works, no smoke and mirrors.
Anti-advertising
We don’t spend a dime on ads, fake reviews, or influencer sponsorships. Instead, we focus on building tools that people want to tell their friends about. Our freemium model lets anyone try Windscribe without pressure, and we rely on word of mouth to grow.
More than a VPN
We also know a VPN isn’t a cure-all for privacy, and we’re upfront about that. That’s why we go beyond the basics, with server side ad blocking, and browser extensions packed with privacy features that most providers don’t even think about . At Windscribe, we’re not just trying to be another VPN — we’re aiming to be the one you can actually trust, in some countries - literally with your life.
The VPN with Actual Principles
Self-funded. No third-party trackers. No paid reviews. No influencer shilling. Windscribe grows by building useful privacy tools people tell their friends about. Read the thinking behind our anti-ad, anti-tracking, user-first approach.
Windscribe Culture and Values
Windscribe is a team of unconventional thinkers who build tools to make the internet suck less. We do things differently—focusing on substance over corporate fluff and keeping things refreshingly straightforward.
We build practical tools that prioritize privacy, security, and usability—without the corporate nonsense.
Our global remote team values efficiency, direct communication, and a shared commitment to shipping great products.
We don’t do meaningless meetings or empty buzzwords—just smart people working together (and roasting each other in Slack).
We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. If you want to know more about how we operate (or just need a laugh), check out our public employee handbook. And if this sounds like your kind of place, we’re always looking for more skilled misfits—see our current job openings.
